It occurs to me that there is alot of negative coverage out there in the media covering this house (this blog). Actually, there is a lot of good things that are positive ‘on the ground.’ Here are the photos that show this progress:

When’s the wall-to-wall get here?
The porch — tiny keg supplied by Paul as knee therapy. It worked for a few hours.
So we decided to paint the porch. I wanted to post dramatic before and after photos but it turned into such a big project that introducing cameras into the situation would have even been too much. It wouldn’t have actually been that big of a deal accept that we decided to strip this varnish stuff off the ceiling. Over the years it had crackled and discolored. This seems to be a common occurence with porch ceilings.
I had hoped to have photos of the process becuase they make for more dramatic before and after shots. I suppose it’s not fair to really do that becuase I think there’s always a little dip when you do a project. In this case, the dip was more dramatic because the ceiling stripper dripped down on the floor and made a huge mess. And then there were the burns on my arms and legs…
But well worth the satisfaction of sitting on a back porch, rubbing your elbow and saying “storm’s a comin”.
So the porch was predominately purple before:

OK, this isn’t actually our porch. It’s our neighbors. But they have the same stuff. Sorry guys!
